Application Deadline
Entries should be postmarked or hand delivered by April 15, 2007 to your school guidance counselor or to Joy Brubaker. (see contact information below.)
Eligibility
Students must be residents of Clinton County and junior or senior status
as of April 15, 2007 to be eligible to enter.
Work must have been produced within the last 6 months.
Work must be 3 - 5 minutes total running time.
One submission per student or team of students.
Images and language appropriate to family setting (General Audience rating)
Topic
Our Connected World
Applicants will submit a video project that responds to the question “What does it mean to “Think Globally and Act Locally” as a young adult in Clinton County?”
Judging and Awards
Videos submitted will be reviewed by members of the Clinton County Progressives scholarship committee.
All entries will be showcased, and the winner announced, at a film festival in May. Families and friends of entrants will be invited to the public screening.
A five hundred dollar ($500.00) scholarship will be awarded to the producer(s) of the video judged best of group. All entrants will receive recognition of their efforts.
Scholarship money must be used for the furtherance of applicant’s education or equipment and supplies needed for education including additional media training.
Entry Package
All entries must be accompanied by an entry form. Please include the precise running time and title of the work, the name the artist(s) and a brief description of the work.
Please do not submit master copies.
*NOTE: Steve Reed, director of Wilmington High school’s media center, (382-7716) has graciously offered to be available for advice and use of the computer editing lab during after school hours for participating students. Contact him for technical questions and scheduling of lab.
